WIN a $4k Business Accelerator Scholarship

I believe the NEW Academy is going to change EVERYTHING.

We’ve spent the past six months engineering a brand new 4-week program that promises to create small changes that add up to massive long-term success.

We did this by listening to over 1000 different survey results about what London Realers struggle with every single day.

The whole of this week we’re launching this NEW Academy to the public. Will you help us?

We need to spread the message about our NEW Academy and find the best people in the world to become part of our Tribe.

Would you post on your social media and tell your friends about what we are doing?

To say “thank you” we are giving away one place in our Business Accelerator programme starting in September worth $3,997.

We did this in May to London Realer Lisa May and it COMPLETELY changed her life. Now she’s running her business while travelling the world and loving life:

The Business Accelerator got me comfortable with competition and completion. This is the ONLY educational program I’ve ever completed – I’ve been to University 7 times at 5 different schools.

Michael Venom Page KO’s Cyborg with Skull Crushing Knee at Bellator 158

It is very special when you get to see someone you admire and respect achieve greatness right in front of your eyes.

This happened Saturday night at a packed o2 Arena in London when our friend and guest Michael “Venom” Page fought his most formidable opponent yet, seasoned veteran Evangelista Santos aka “Cyborg.”

Michael is a true showman as the crowd chanted “M-V-P, M-V-P, M-V-P” to his entrance complete with sunglasses and Union Jack. After a hard first round of ground fighting “MVP” changed the game and was soon moving in and out landing punches and kicks at will.

Mid-way through the second round, Michael launched himself into the air and connected his knee to the forehead of Cyborg and in an instant it was all over. Hands down, lights out.Later in the night Michael found me in the crowd and gave me a big hug, thanked me for the interview on London Real and said, “can we do another?”Following the fight Cyborg’s ex-wife posted a photo of Cyborg in hospital alongside an x-ray of his skull – the damage is pretty gruesome as you can see below. A GoFundMe campaign has been setup and, ever a class act, Bellator MMA President Scott Coker has announced the organisation will cover all medical bills and even pay out a win bonus to the veteran fighter.

And as for MVP? Wow, what an incredible fighter and impressive young man.Watch the Full Episode of Michael Venom Page on London Real here.

Email Competition

What’s up London Realers?

So I need your help… every Friday I’m going to be sending out a short email giving your a private peek at what’s going on in my world – from what I’m watching to the workouts I’m doing, the diet changes I’m playing with and whatever else happens to be worth sharing from my week.

But I need a catchy name for the email series! “Brian’s Brain Dump” just doesn’t sound all that appetising, does it?!

So I’m calling on the collective creativity of the London Real Tribe to come up with something better. I know you’re an inventive bunch, so get your thinking caps on and put your best suggestions in the comments below. Keep it to one suggestion per comment so we can all up/down vote our favourites.

I’ll personally be sending the winner a London Real t-shirt and a few other bits and pieces to say thanks, and of course they’ll be able to bask in the glory of seeing their winning entry sent out to hundreds of thousands of London Realers around the world every Friday.

On your marks…get set…go!

Lawrence Krauss, Dan Pena, James Altucher, Cara Santana, Timothy Sheiff and Max Keiser

It’s been another super-impressive week – we’ve had amazing sun and crazy storms here in London! That’s just the way it goes in the world’s best city.

Come what may, though, we’re hitting it hard as per usual, with Live Shows, #RealTALK, blogs and of course the London Real Business Accelerator programme, which we are just about to launch.

Here are the links to all the crazy happenings over the last week:

There you have it. Hope it’s been a great week for you too!

James Altucher on improving 1% a day

Too often our goals and dreams get caught up in the same old boom and bust cycle. We do so well, and then we fall off. We live good then start bingeing again.

This is natural. We are human. Oftentimes we are pushing too hard, and we find it difficult to process the failures when the come.

The trick here is to see our progress as evolution rather than overnight transformation. It was James Altucher who really hit this home for me.

James really broke down what he said in his TED Talk. The key to escaping the boom and bust cycle for him was making sure he improved 1% each day.

There are four main areas James recommends making these improvements in:

  1. Physical health
  2. Emotional well-being
  3. Spiritual/gratitude
  4. Mental health – working the ideas muscle!

1. Physical health

James is no gym rat. All he recommends is improving things gradually, going for walks, cutting back on drink and junk food. Taking better care of yourself, basically.

To get momentum in physical health, start small. All you need to do is make sure you are progressing, pushing yourself more each day. This way you will start to notice changes quicker than you think!

2. Emotional health

The relationships in our lives are crucial, and it’s not just about being around successful people.

It’s a question of what James terms “love and trust”. Are the people in your life supportive, loving and invested in your success? If not, then simply make small steps each day to reach out to new people, or spend time in new environments. Remember, it’s not overnight. Small changes.

3. Spirituality and gratitude

Spirituality is not a word James uses, and in his TED Talk he explains it’s about simply seeing opportunities rather than limitations.

He told me that he deals with anxiety and fear by turning each challenge or difficulty into a gratitude exercise. It’s easy to be grateful for the things we love, but giving thanks for the tough stuff often turns struggle into opportunity. Experiment. A 1% shift in your daily  mindset is progress!

4. Mental health

James is a business success, because he put creativity at the centre of his daily life. He uses his now famous waiter pads to record at least ten ideas each day.

Some of these ideas might never come to anything. It’s not the point. Simply exercising the ideas muscle improves your mental health, keeps you innovative and alert to your environment. It also stops you falling into unhelpful thought patterns. This is such a big part of how James broke his boom and bust cycles. It took me four years to build this business. I simply made sure I was putting one foot in front of the other every day, releasing an episode week in week out.

Running your own business is a marathon not a sprint, but people too easily get caught up in the image of success rather than laying the foundations.

If you want to build a solid base of skills, and turn your idea into a product in under ten weeks, then apply for the LAST spot on our Business Accelerator programme.

Just had dinner with Dan Peña. This is what happened…

This weekend, I had dinner with my beloved mentor Dan Peña. Always a treat!

Despite all we’ve achieved in the last year, Dan spent the whole night berating me for not doing more! I felt defensive at first, but then I realised, he is right. You can always do more.

There are certain things you have to do if you want to keep evolving and growing. Here are my takeaways from my discussion with Dan:

  1. 10x your goals
  2. Focus on the few
  3. Don’t give tacit consent
  4. Stop wasting time!
  1. 10x your goals

When I came back from Dan’s Castle seminar, my goals for London Real changed completely. I saw new possibilities in what this business could be, and I saw more potential in myself.

But now we are on our way to achieving some of those goals, Dan reminds me that it’s time to step it up once again. Whatever you think is your most ambitious goal right now, times it by ten. Sometimes it feels like Dan is beating on me, but in truth, he’s a visionary. He sees possibilities where others see limitations.

 2. Focus on the few

New goals mean tough decisions. You can’t please all the people all the time, and sometimes you have to make a call.

You have to be honest with yourself about works and what doesn’t. Like Gary Vaynerchuk said about moving to SnapChat instead of Twitter, sentimental attachment can’t be allowed to get in the way of a good business choice. Double down on what works, and be brutal. Your time is short.

3. Don’t give tacit consent

This is something Dan said in our last interview, and it stuck with me. How many times in a day do you validate bad ideas, or give consent simply by avoiding a response?

It’s worrying right? By avoiding the awkward moment, or being afraid of saying no, you shoot yourself in the foot. You end up committed to projects you know don’t work, and you let people treat you badly. Don’t do this! Better to be honest and direct, than to be nice and let other people make decisions for you.

4. Stop wasting time!

Okay so it’s not like you haven’t heard this before. But even if you think you are pretty good at it, it’s important to remember you can always be better.

Each minute counts in high performance, and wasted time cannot be bought back. As Dan always says, simply being aware of how you invest you time is often enough to shock you into upping your game in this area. Keep yourself accountable.

So there you have it. Some nuggets from the beating I took from Mr Peña the other night. Let me know how you plan to start upping your game in the next week.

One way to start using these principles is to apply for our Business Accelerator programme. We will take you from idea to product in eight weeks, and with private calls and mentoring, we keep you accountable to your dreams.

Apply here, and start living life on your own terms.
